A Math Story

Christmas gifts shopping…I hate them. I grumbled silently as I walked down the hallways in the large mall. It’s so hard to find good gifts for my family and friends. Not to mention staying within my budget for each one. I only have so much on me and so many to buy for. One hundred fifty dollars is my limit for my friends, two hundred dollars for family, and three hundred for my beloved ones. It’s almost impossible! Oh, look at that lovely glass ball! It has a lovely water lily in it with a frog on it! It would make a perfect gift for my mother! I walk up to the window and checked the price. My smile falls from my face upside down into a frown. It is two hundred seventy-five dollars. I decide to try to haggle, and my eyes wander to the entrance. I blinked when my eyes landed onto a sign. It says in a big bold red letters “NO HAGGLING” I sighed and went to another store, on my endless journey for perfect gifts for my family. They can be so expensive! Last year I went over my budget for everyone and wound up forgetting about getting myself a nice pool for the house because I could not afford the 100,000 dollars for the pool plans. I’ve just started getting the pool room ready, and so far I don’t want to go over my budget for Christmas or the pool plans will get postponed again.
